As The Rock hinted at a potential showdown with Roman Reigns during his promo, fans speculated that WWE might be thinking of having Dwayne vs. Roman for the main event at WrestleMania 40. Even though it’ll delay Cody’s dream of reigning at the top, people feel it’s the plan heading into the mega event in April.
Despite everything that has been rumored about a match between the Samoan cousins, a social media activity by Rhodes has ruined its possibility. In what seems like an indirect hint that he’ll indeed be in the main event of this year’s WrestleMania, the fan-favorite star recently shared a tweet on his X handle.

This happened when the 38-year-old replied to a WWE universe member’s post, who thanked him for sending a belt for his daughter. In his response to the tweet, the 6-foot-2 wrote, “Beautiful. I don’t like stories to go unfinished.” (Via: X)
The 2023 Royal Rumble winner didn’t write anything about his match at WrestleMania 2024, but his reply looks like a message that he’ll finish his story at the show. Due to the rumors that The Rock might be taking Cody Rhodes’ place in the main event of WrestleMania 40, a lot of people feel there might be heat between them. But in the midst of everything that has been circulating across the internet, The American Nightmare and Dwayne recently came face-to-face in the WWE.
They didn’t have an on-screen interaction, but it was revealed that they met each other backstage on Day 1 RAW. Even though fans might think that things might have heated up between the wrestling stars, that wasn’t really the case.
