From amongst all the matches set for the WWE Fastlane 2023 card, much of fans’ attention stuck to Seth Rollins vs Shinsuke Nakamura’s match. Feuding for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, the two men were announced to go head-on in a no-disqualification match.
Looking at the terms and conditions of the match, it was expected that the match would turn out to be extremely brutal. Both Rollins and Shinsuke made the best use of all the elements present under and around the ring, including steel steps, nunchucks and chairs.

The two stars also roamed around in the Gainbridge Fieldhouse, thrashing each other with sheer aggression. With brutal shots and breath-taking action, the match took the audience on a rollercoaster ride of emotions. As the referee counted out multiple times in the 28 minute match, it was Seth Rollins who became the Last Man Standing at the Premium Live Event.
Seth wasn’t in his best form from the start of the match since Shinsuke Nakamura seemed to be the man with the upper hand most of the time. However, Seth did not give up and fought until he was able to retain his title. After a brutally tough battle, Seth Rollins managed to keep his opponent on the ground.
How did the WWE Universe react to Seth Rollins’ win at WWE Fastlane?
Seth Rollins vs Shinsuke Nakamura was the main event of the PLE. By the end of the match, it was clear why it was “the highlight of the night.” Looking at the entire WWE Fastlane card, the match was the best on the card. The audience took to X to give their take on the match.
“Wild match. Best LMS match I’ve seen,” wrote one fan. The success of the match spoke for itself in the words of the fans, who wrote, “What a rollercoaster of a match! @WWERollins proving once again why he’s the champ. The resilience was off the charts!” The fans were really happy with Seth coming out strong at the event.
“Seth is the new Super Cena,” another user wrote. Fans also hoped for Rollins to be the World Heavyweight Champion for some more time. On the other hand, Shinsuke Nakamura’s efforts did not go unnoticed. “Seths a great wrestler, but shinske shouldve won, that match was legit a page out of super cena,” wrote a fan.
While many fans also hoped that Damian Priest cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase, there had been enough excitement for a match. It won’t be incorrect to say that it was the perfect way to close out on WWE Fastlane 2023.
