Dwayne Johnson dropped a huge bombshell on his fans after he rejoined the Fast and Furious franchise in a brief post-credits scene at the wrap of Fast X. Following his differences with the franchise protagonist, Vin Diesel, the former WWE superstar insisted that he wouldn’t be coming back anytime soon.
Despite being in a high-profile feud with Johnson, Vin took to Instagram to post a plea for the Jumanji star to return. However, The Rock stated in an interview later that Vin Diesel’s Instagram post was ‘an example of his manipulation’. Thus, he denied all the possibilities of a potential return to the franchise.

Nevertheless, his return for the Fast X has surely raised several eyebrows at the former WWE Champion. The failure of Black Adam is seen as one of the major reasons why Dwayne went back to the blockbuster franchise. Thus, the money demanded by the megastar is still not disclosed.
Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam was a failure at the box office
Dwayne Johnson has made numerous blockbuster movies. However, a few of them failed to reach the top of the chart too. Similarly, one of The Rock’s recent creations, Black Adam, failed to impress fans on the big screen.
The reasons behind the washout were many, but lack of originality, unfamiliar characters, and a poor script topped the list. Black Adam made less than $400 million at the box office globally, while it was required to cross $600 million to break even.
Dwayne bet EVERYTHING that Black Adam wouldn’t flop and this man has to walk back to Vin and beg to be part of a successful franchise again. https://t.co/B2VrtOGoaP

The movie was produced by Warner Bros. for $195 million, and in addition to that, $100 million was spent to advertise the movie worldwide. Thus, not crossing $400 million marks the movie as Dwayne Johnson’s biggest flop.
The Rock’s possible return to WWE
The Rock was expected to make a stellar return to WWE WrestleMania 39 after he talked about meeting Roman Reigns in person in a video he uploaded on Twitter. However, the People’s Champion didn’t show up in the squared circle.
As one door closed, the fans started expecting a return for the former WWE Champion later in the year. A couple of reports stated that he can return to SummerSlam, which will take place in Detroit, but it’s highly unlikely to happen.
According to Wrestling News Observer’s Dave Meltzer, The Brahma Bull is leaving a crack in the door for a potential return at WrestleMania 40. The next edition of the Grandest Stage of All will take place on April 6 and 7, 2024, in Philadelphia.
