WWE Superstar Dwayne Johnson‘s uncle, Afa Anoa’i is a well-known personality in the World of pro wrestling. However, he has taken his retirement from the squared circle. Meanwhile, besides being a retired pro wrestler, Afa is also a professional wrestling manager. With that, following his retirement, he has been attached to the World Xtreme Wrestling promotion.
However, it is worth mentioning that Afa Anoa’i was previously a part of WWF/WWE. During his tenure with the Stamford-based promotion, Afa showcased exceptional skills. He also won the WWF Tag Team Championship thrice with Sika. In addition to that, he was also Inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2007. With that, he later became popular with the name of Afa the Wild Samoan.
Meanwhile, recently there have been some concerning updates regarding Dwayne Johnson’s 81-year-old uncle. Previously in December 2023, it was reported that Afa went through two heart procedures. It was also reported that he might have required a valve replacement.

However, following that on January 12, 2024, reports came into the spotlight that Afa had to be hospitalized due to Pneumonia. It was also reported that upon his arrival at the hospital, Afa suffered a mild heart attack. Later, it was known that Afa suffered a second mild heart attack the next day.
With that, it was noted that he will be requiring a heart Catheterization. Also, he would be kept in the hospital for further monitoring and observation. This was heartbreaking news for the entire pro wrestling community and they were eagerly waiting for an update on Afa’s health condition.
Afa Anoa’i has been discharged from the hospital
While the fans of Afa the Wild Samoan were eagerly waiting for an update on his health condition, recently their prayers came true. An update has come into the spotlight on Afa’s condition and it has been reported that the WWE Hall of Famer has been discharged from the hospital.
On January 14, 2024, WXW Wrestling took their ‘X’ handle to make a post. In the post, it was reported that Afa was going home from the hospital after battling Pneumonia and two mild heart attacks. It was also noted that Afa gave an update and stated that he had successfully kicked out at 1.

Thus, it seems though Afa’s health condition was initially concerning, he has recovered and went to his home from the hospital. With that, it remains to be seen what lies ahead for the WWE Hall of Famer in the upcoming days. Also, now his fans will look forward to more positive updates about him going forward.
