SUMMARY
- Brock Lesnar, who suffered from diverticulitis, is a big fan of hunting.
- During his recent 'The Joe Rogan Experience', Hulk Hogan opened up about Lesnar's hunting habits.
Despite being 70, WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan has still managed to be a regular feature in the discussions of professional wrestling fans. As a veteran who retired from in-ring action a long time ago, his personal life and interviews have taken him into the headlines several times in the last few years.
In a similar fashion, Hollywood Hogan recently appeared in an interview on ‘The Joe Rogan Experience’ podcast and talked about his wrestling career. Not just his own stint with the Stamford-based promotion, the legend also talked about his experience with other performers, most notably Brock Lesnar.
The 6-time WWE Champion talked about Lesnar’s initial days in the company and also about The Beast’s UFC stint. While doing so, Hogan revealed to Joe Rogan about the life-threatening disease that ended Brock’s career in Dana White’s promotion.
As Joe pointed out the former Universal Champion’s problem with diverticulitis, Hogan referred to Brock’s addiction to eating too much meat and said, “Well, he eats everything that he hunts. That’s the deal“. Additionally, Rogan said, “You know, so he’s always out hunting stuff. I don’t know why or how you get diverticulitis. It’s a real mystery because you could actually get it from a seed, like a seed“.
As fight fans know, Lesnar underwent surgery in November 2009 due to diverticulitis. The doctors reportedly had to get rid of 12 inches of his colon to fix the issue. However, after going through such a life-altering experience, Lesnar returned to fighting in July 2010 to take on Shane Carwin at UFC 116. The fight remains one of the best one of Lesnar’s career as he survived a horrible on-slaught against Shane who was one of the hardest punchers at the time.
However, he did not survive in the Octagon for long retired from MMA in 2011 and made another off-appearance in 2016 at UFC 200 against Mark Hunt. After his initial retirement in 2011, Lesnar signed with WWE in March 2012. Since then, Brock broke The Undertaker’s legendary streak at WrestleMania 30, destroyed John Cena, and dominated the entire roster for over a decade. However, he had to take a hiatus in January 2024 after a former employee Janel Grant accused him in her s*x-trafficking lawsuit.
Hulk Hogan scared Joe Rogan with a Hammer
Not just Brock Lesnar, but Hogan also talked about his iconic rivalry with WWE megastar The Rock during a recent interview with Rogan. Highlighting the buildup to their match at WrestleMania 18, he revealed how he, along with his friends Scott and Kevin, carried out a vicious attack on Dwayne Johnson.
Hollywood Hogan continued by stating that he took out a hammer from a toolbox to attack his WrestleMania opponent from behind. As soon as Joe heard it, he was left absolutely shocked and asked, “Is it an actual hammer?”

The WWE veteran took immediate note of the interviewer’s reaction and told him sarcastically that he could even put the hammer between Joe’s forehead. Cutting down his hilarious suggestion, Joe shouted, “Let’s Please Not“. But, looking at Rogan’s reaction, it was confirmed that he wasn’t able to believe it was true.
During the conversation on the podcast, Hogan revealed unknown facts about his own career. While the main focus of the conversation was the 70-year-old veteran himself, he went on to discuss some exceptional WWE talents, and it is pretty safe to say that his takes on them were quite interesting.
