Last night was another episode of WWE NXT 2.0. Multiple matches were made for next week’s NXT RoadBlock. Besides that, we saw the seeds being planted for potential matches at NXT Stand and Deliver. Teams qualified to next week’s Semi-Finals of the Women’s Dusty Classic tournament. Of course, there were also some not so good moments. Let’s take a look at the high moments and the low ones from last night. I would once again like to thank Simon Miller of WhatCulture Wrestling for this idea. Let us kick things off with the lows and we shall end on a high note.

The Lows

NXT has always been one of the best shows on television. After evolving into NXT 2.0, we saw a lot of new stars develop. But still, there were a few not so great moments, let’s take a look at them.

Squash Matches

NXT 2.0 is filled with upcoming talent. It makes no sense for multiple squash matches to take place. I do understand Harland squashing people, he is basically Frankenstein minus the nuts and bolts. Wrestlers getting squashed by him make sense but at the same time, how long is he going to just be squashing people?

Von Wagner wrestled Andre Chase and once again Chase lost. Chase is no longer a threat and if he continues to lose, what is the point? Lash Legend wrestled her former tag team partner, Amari Miller. This was a squashed match at least this had some story to it and Lash Legend has her eyes set on Nikkita Lyons.

The Highs

The Streak is over

Solo Sikoa finally got his one-on-one match against ‘The Ring General‘ Gunther. Gunther is known for being a beast in the ring, Sikoa is undefeated in NXT 2.0. The two one hell of a match. Sikoa finally experienced the vicious chops from Gunther. After a brutal battle, the Ring General picked up the win after 2 Powerbombs.

The Women’s Dusty Classic Quarter-Finals

The team of Indi Hartwell and Persia Pirotta took on the odd pairing of Dakota Kai and Wendy Choo. Kai and Choo once again impress the NXT Universe with some impressive teamwork. They emerged victorious and advanced to the Semi-Finals.

Raquel Gonzalez and Cora Jade faced Yulisa Leon and Valentina Feroz. This was another great tag team match. We saw some insane high-flying moves that would give Montez Ford a run for his money.

Gonzales and Jade advanced to the Semi-Finals.

Raquel Gonzales and Dakota Kai won last year’s Dusty Cup and this year both have the opportunity to win it for the second year in a row. But only this time, it will be with different tag partners.

Bron Breakker and Tommaso Ciampa make a good team

After what happened last week, Ciampa and Breakker teamed up to take on the Dirty Dawgs. Robert Roode made his entrance with the infamous ‘Glorious‘ Theme. Breakker and Ciampa started the match early by attacking the Dawgs just as they were making their way to the ring. The best part was the double self-patting.

Ciampa hit the ‘Fairy Tale Ending‘ on Ziggler and pinned him for the win.

Later during a post-match interview segment, Bron Breakker accepted the challenge laid out by Ziggler and Ciampa. The three will battle it out for the NXT Title next week at RoadBlock.

Carmelo Hayes retains

Carmelo Hayes defended his title against Pete Dunne in the main event. Dunne was having the upper hand most of the match. But in the end, thanks to some help from Williams Hayes won the match. After the match, Hayes issued a challenge for NXT Stand and Deliver. He said that he will defend the title in a ladder match, just the same way it was introduced.

AND STILL.

NXT 2.0 once again proved why it is a must-watch. Next week is already a newsworthy episode with the NXT Title and the NXT Tag Team Titles on the line. LA Knight will also be settling the score with Grayson Waller in a Last Man Standing match.
