Chris Jericho, how we love your teases! The current AEW Superstar has fueled expectations about a WWE return! Kevin Owens on 13 February, changed his Twitter profile picture to a snap from the Festival of Friendship that happened between him and Y2J. He did this to commemorate the event that took place on the same date in 2017.
‘Le Champion’ then decided to reply to this tweet by KO. He Tweets, “I haven’t forgotten Owens. You never know when you’ll see me again.”

And thus, the pro-wrestling universe was sent into a meltdown. Chris Jericho and Kevin Owens had probably one of the best built-up storylines between 2016 and 2017. Kevin Owens was then the WWE Universal Champion and formed an unlikely duo with Jericho.
After helping each other out, on the 13th February 2017 episode of Monday Night RAW, Owens assaulted Jericho after weeks of frustration with Y2J. The leader of the inner circle then exacted his revenge at Fastlane 2017. During Owens’ match with Goldberg, Jericho made an appearance to distract Owens and drop the WWE Universal Championship to Goldberg in under 22 seconds! The duo’s feud came to a head at WrestleMania 33 where Owens defeated Jericho to become the new WWE United States Champion.
KO changing his Twitter profile picture and Jericho responding has thrown the pro-wrestling fanbase into wild fantasies and dream scenarios. Could all of this just be a fun moment between two friends or do KO and Y2J know something we don’t know?
What is the contract status of AEW’s Chris Jericho?
The first AEW World Champion was one of the first superstars signed by the promotion back in 2019. At that time Jericho signed a 3 year deal with them. Last August, Dave Meltzer also reported that there was an option to extend his contract by a year which will keep him with AEW through 2022.
However, it is yet unknown whether Y2J has signed a new contract extension with them. Meanwhile, Kevin Owens recently signed a new 3 year deal with WWE that will keep him with the company till at least 2024.
We might not have any answers right now about Jericho’s return to WWE but we surely have more than what we had a couple of days ago! Could WWE open up a little of bubbly soon?
