The movie’s trailer was released long ago but Cena was nowhere to be found. However, fans could spot his name in the cast mentioned during the two-minute trailer. During CinemaCon 2023, another glimpse of the movie was revealed to the public. The clip brings out John Cena and Dua Lipa in the roles of merman and mermaid respectively.

John Cena last appeared in the ring at WWE WrestleMania 39 and squared off against Austin Theory for the WWE United States Championship. The ‘Leader of Cenation’ carried the same style and persona that he did in his over 20-year-long career. During the match, Theory had submitted to Cena’s STF, but the referee wasn’t present to give the judgment. Eventually, Austin Theory won the match via a low blow and an A-Town-Down.
