SUMMARY
- CM Punk suffered a major injury at WWE Royal Rumble 2024.
- The Best In the World talked about his injury at the recent episode of Monday Night RAW.
Ever since Royal Rumble 2024 ended, CM Punk has been the talk of the town. The Best In the World was among the final two of the annual men’s match, but the reason behind his presence in the headlines is not that. In fact, The Straight Edge Superstar has been the topic of discussion due to an injury he suffered at the January 27 PLE.
It has been rumored that this happened when Punk took Drew McIntyre’s future shock DDT. Moreover, The Scottish Warrior has taken full responsibility for the same on the recent episode of RAW. It happened when CM was interacting with the crowd after confirming that he had suffered a right tricep injury, as he was interrupted by Drew.
In fact, the former WWE Champion claimed that he intentionally injured the 45-year-old at the Royal Rumble. Due to these comments by McIntyre, fans have been wondering if that’s really the truth or if it’s just kayfabe. So, let’s find out the reality behind the injury to Phillip Brooks.
Here’s the full opening segment of #WWERaw featuring CM Punk stating that he will miss Wrestlemania 40 due to his injured tricep.

According to reports, Punk’s tricep injury is a genuine one, and he actually suffered it during a spot in the Royal Rumble match. But the claim that Drew injured Punk intentionally seems like just a storyline, as the promotion has probably tried to take advantage of this situation. In fact, it makes a lot of sense, as McIntyre’s character has got a lot of heat after his comments about CM’s injury.
When is CM Punk expected to make his WWE return?
Before the recent tricep injury, CM Punk was rumored to be challenging Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 40. It was being speculated that he’d dethrone The Visionary from his World Heavyweight title and walk out as the new champion from this year’s WrestleMania.
But all these plans have been destroyed due to the injury Punk suffered during the Men’s Royal Rumble match. In fact, it has been revealed that The Straight Edge Superstar will be out of action for a significant time as he tore the triceps of his right arm at the January 27 PLE.
Despite this, the 45-year-old didn’t reveal anything about his return timeline during his promo on Monday Night RAW. But, if reports are to be believed, the Best In the World will probably stay away from in-ring competition until September 2024.
“I’d say September is a reasonable return (for CM Punk).
Which is interesting, really interesting, because they set up the big angle with Drew McIntyre tonight to be his opponent when he returns, and Drew McIntyre’s not under contract past April.

This obviously means that Punk will miss The Show of Shows, which is a huge blow to WWE’s plans for WrestleMania. Even though reports have claimed that he could be on the shelf until late 2024, it remains to be seen when he actually shows up in the Triple H-led promotion. Will he somehow manage to make it return sooner? We’ll find out soon.
