In response to the tweet, Triple H stated that he would be willing to talk to people about making it happen. Over the past forty years, WWE has gone to great lengths to host WrestleMania. However, the event has never taken place outside of North America and has only twice taken place outside of the country, both times in Toronto.
For a considerable amount of time, European fans have been pleading with WWE to think about holding WrestleMania abroad. While it would mean some adjustments to the company’s standard presentation of the show, it is certainly feasible.
Fans go crazy after Triple H hints at possible WrestleMania location
As soon as Triple H talked about having a conversation with London’s Mayor, the internet was set on fire. Fans were elated seeing the possibility of having a WrestleMania in London and welcomed the idea with open arms. Users praised Hunter for giving such exciting news stating “Triple H is Cooking”. “This would be the best wrestlemania ever”, said another user.
WWE has traveled outside the country for more high-end live events in the last few years than it has ever done before. The company has plenty of time to prepare for airing the shows at odd hours in the US. Several wrestlers and talents backstage have talked about how they want WrestleMania to be in London. Hunter would surely look forward to having Mania in the UK shortly. If the 54-year-old does pull it off, it will mean that Triple H will be successful in hosting a Mania outside of North America, which is something that Vince McMahon was not able to do in over 5 decades.
WWE Held Money In The Bank 2023 in London
Triple H expanded WWE a lot throughout 2023 since he took over. He gave fans what they wanted and put out classic shows and rivalries in front of the WWE Universe. Things saw new heights for the company when they arrived in the United Kingdom for Money in the Bank 2023. The event was held in the O2 Arena of London and smashed several records in the process.
It turned into the most profitable and successful Money In The Bank ever. Notably, Friday Night SmackDown from The O2 became the highest-grossing SmackDown of all time, and Money In The Bank broke the previous record for the highest-grossing arena event in WWE history. $5.4 million in gate revenue was produced throughout the weekend.
The event itself was memorable for giving out several moments including The Usos defeating Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa and Damien Priest winning the Money in the Bank contract. It also saw the return of John Cena who talked about having a WrestleMania in London.
He said, “It’s not up to me, it’s up to the decision makers. They don’t necessarily know how to feel about London… They think this is kind of a hostile environment… They think that sometimes you guys are a distraction. They even think that you guys try to take over the show.”
Cena continued, “You see that? They don’t know what they’re talking about. You are the voice. You are the heartbeat. You are not trying to take over the show. You are the show… So I am here to try to bring Wrestlemania to London… Take a moment right now, let them see, let them feel, let them hear what WrestleMania is going to sound like in London.” (h/t via CNBC)
It seems his wish might come true as WWE might venture to London for the shows of the shows.
