It now seems that his demands for acknowledgment and his hunger for greatness have transcended the world of pro wrestling into the world of MMA. Roman Reigns’ Special Counsel has now asked UFC Middleweight Champion Israel Adesanya to “acknowledge” The Tribal Chief.
Combat sports journalist Ariel Helwani recently announced that Adesanya would join him in the studio for a chat. Taking to his Instagram story, Heyman noted that Helwani should ask the champion to acknowledge Roman Reigns when he arrives for the interview. It was a showcase of arrogance and pride from Heyman as he sincerely believes that there is no one in the world who should not acknowledge Reigns.
“Mr. Helwani – While this great champion is in your studio tomorrow, please be sure to have him ACKNOWLEDGE THE TRIBAL CHIEF! Respectfully, Paul Heyman, wise man, and special counsel.”
Adesanya has been one of the most dominant champions in UFC history. He currently holds a 26-2 record in MMA, with his latest win coming against Alex Pereira at UFC 287 via knockout. With UFC and WWE now under the same umbrella following the latter’s purchase by the MMA giants’ parent company Endeavor, seeing several UFC fighters in the squared circle can now become a possibility.
Adesanya’s fellow UFC fighter Amanda Nunes also showcased her interest in becoming a part of the sports entertainment juggernaut, while Cono McGregor has also been having a war of words with Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman on Twitter.
Will Roman Reigns’ demand for acknowledgment end soon?
Roman Reigns has certainly achieved some major accolades when it comes to being a champion in the ring. He has held onto the Universal Title for over 1000 days. The Tribal Chief has also been the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion for 435 days, overtaking CM Punk‘s reign in the process.
However, another aspect of his reign of terror as The Tribal Chief has been the “Acknowledge Me” catchphrase. These two words have now become synonymous with Roman Reigns as it has captivated fans around the world. He stars every promo with the two words, as it resonates greatly with fans.

Despite his dominance, it seems that Roman Reigns’ cousins, Jey, and Jimmy Uso, are refusing to acknowledge him any longer. Jimmy betrayed Reigns at Night of Champions, and it seems that Jey is in a dilemma on whether to remain in the stable. This could leave The Bloodline in shambles and leave Reigns a king without a kingdom. The saga has made for some enthralling television and could be one of the best stories in a long time in WWE.
