Vince McMahon planning to introduce superstar ranking system
WWE has reportedly sent out surveys to limited fans and members of the WWE Universe. The survey emphasized several topics. It also included a potential ranking system for the WWE superstars. Other surveys questioned the fans about the pros and cons of other wrestling promotions and the match card leading up to WrestleMania Backlash. WWE also asked its fan regarding the amount of time they spend watching WWE and coming live events.
@bryanalvarez I got this survey from someone at WWE. There’s a question about a ranking system like AEW has. pic.twitter.com/TTMLI9Gnti

Some of the questions in the survey were very standard ones. These were also mentioned in the surveys that WWE put out before. They added a question about NFTs (Non-Fungible Tokens) and if the fans are interested in them.
Is McMahon trying to copy AEW?
Rumors have speculated that WWE is trying to copy AEW’s ranking system. Earlier, Vince McMahon introduced a superstar ranking system called the ‘Power Ratings.’ These rankings focused on the impact created by the performer during any given episode of RAW and SmackDown. It centered around the performance during a match, a promo, or any form of a backstage segment.

The AEW rankings solely focuses on wins, losses, or draws. The ranking system started during the first-ever episode of Dynamite in 2019. AEW wanted their shows to feel like a sport. The promotion built main-event contenders based on the rankings, which resets every year. WWE discarded the ‘Power Rankings’ in 2017, but AEW still employs its system. WWE tried to create a new ranking system in 2018 but abandoned it quickly.
