One of the best things that happened during the 2022 Royal Rumble was the return of the ‘Baddest Woman on the Planet‘, ‘Rowdy‘ Ronda Rousey. Rousey entered the 30-Woman Royal Rumble match as the 28th entrant. This marked her debut in the Royal Rumble match.

During the Rumble, Ronda and Shayna Baszler had a moment for a brief second. They smiled at each other and carried on with the match.

Shayna Baszler and Ronda Rousey are best of friends and are part of MMA’s Four Horse Women.
What is the relationship between Baszler and Rousey?
Despite wrestling in the Royal Rumble at the same time, Ronda and Shayna never got the chance to team up or have a face-off with each other. At one point in WWE, all the four horsewomen were signed within the company. Shayna, Marina Shafir and Jessamyn Duke have been a faction in NXT, but Rousey never got the chance to team with her friends. But now the pairing is possible.
Unfortunately, since Marina Shafir and Jessamyn Duke have been released from the company, we may not be seeing the entire faction re-uniting but Rousey and Baszler can team up. If indeed they do team up then without a doubt the duo will be the most dominating force in the company.
Here is just an idea of how they can become a team.
Who will Ronda Rousey face at WrestleMania?
Ronda Rousey has just won the 2022 Royal Rumble match and is going to show up on Raw this upcoming Monday. Rousey calls out Becky Lynch. The 2 cut promos on each other claiming to be the superior one. The segment ends with Becky walking away. After the segment, Jimmy Smith announces that Rousey will also be showing up on SmackDown.
The following Friday on SmackDown, SmackDown women’s Champion, Charlotte Flair makes her way to the ring and calls out Ronda Rousey. As Rousey is about to enter the ring, Charlotte attacks her. The two begin to brawl and shortly after they are separated by the officials.
A week later on Raw, Rousey has her first single’s match back. The match is against Queen Zelina. Just before the bell rings, Ronda grabs the microphone and says, “I want all the pathetic champions in this company to watch how all of you are beneath me.”
Being one half of the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions, Zelina also was offended by that statement. Rousey gives Zelina a beat down. Carmella tries to rescue her but gets taken out easily. As Rousey is setting up for her finisher, Becky Lynch shows up and from behind attacks Rousey with a steel chair. Lynch, Zelina and Carmella gang up on Rousey. The night comes to an end with the champions standing tall.
Rousey is absent for a couple of weeks.

Rousey makes a return on an episode of Raw. Just as she begins to speak, Becky Lynch’s music hits, and outcomes Big Time Becks. Rousey runs towards the Raw Women’s champion and we have another brawl. surprisingly, Becky gets back up from her rival, Charlotte Flair. The two champions beat Rousey to a pulp.
On Smackdown Rousey comes out and demands that she faces both Charlotte and Becky at WrestleMania. Sonya Deville walks out and says that Ronda cannot have a 2-on-1 match against them. She demands that she can only pick one and that she has 2 weeks’ time to make her decision.
On the following Raw. Becky Lynch walks to the ring and says that Ronda is out of her mind for wanting a handicap match. She jokes around saying that Rousey can’t even handle Zelina and yet she wants to fight Big Time Becks. Rousey walks out but very quickly gets ambushed by the tag team champions.
After a while, a frustrated Rousey went to Adam Pearce and demanded that she gets a match against the tag team champions, Zelina and Carmella. Pearce said that if Rousey can find a partner then she can face them at the Elimination Chamber event. Ronda smiles at Pearce and says, “Book the match, I have a partner”.
At the Elimination Chamber event, it is announced that Zelina and Carmella will defend their titles against Rousey and her partner. Rousey’s partner is none other than Shayna Baszler. Baszler comes out to the loudest pop she has ever had. Very easily, Rousey and Baszler defeat their opponents and become tag team champions.
The next night on Raw, the new tag team champions call out Bayley and Charlotte. Rousey issues a ‘winner-takes-all’ challenge. Rousey says that she and Shayna will team up to face Becky and Charlotte in a Falls count anywhere, tag-team and the winners will go home with all the belts while the losers go home with nothing. Becky and Charlotte accept.
Will Ronda and Shayna win it all?
Sonya Deville agrees to make the match official under one condition. She says that since both teams hate each other and are will grab onto the next opportunity to beat themselves, neither team should get physical until the match. If they do attack each other, all their titles will get stripped and the match will not happen.
We then fast-forward to WrestleMania. For the first time ever a Women’s tag team match headlines the show.
We get a brutal match between the two teams. Since it was a falls count anywhere tornado tag match, all four superstars were involved in the match from the start. After 33 minutes of brutal wrestling and multiple near falls, Ronda Rousey hit the piper’s pit on Becky and pinned her for the win.
Rousey and Shayna become the first team to become Undisputed Champions. By winning this match, Rousey and Shayna became GrandSlam champions at the same time.
Ronda and Shayna form the 2-Women Power-Trip and dominate both Raw and Smackdown over the next year.
