The Rock’s relationship with Rikishi
Rikishi talked about The Rock and he didn’t get to meet each much initially. The Rock and his parents lived on the East Coast while Rikishi lived on the West Coast. The Hall of Famer was aware of The Rock’s father, Rocky Johnson, flying all over the States to wrestle in various regional promotions including the WWE (then WWF).
Rikishi Said, “Well, the Rock was younger and we weren’t really around each other that much, you know? I’m from the West Coast, he was out there on the East Coast. We all knew him and his father and they flew all over the place, but when we finally did get together, it was all good! A young kid from Allentown, Pennsylvania going to high school; he was always in the gym. I for sure thought that he was going to play NFL Football, you know?”
Rikishi discussed how The Rock opened up doors for other wrestlers in the industry and helped them adapt so that they can follow in his footsteps and go to Hollywood.
Rikishi tips The Rock to become US President
There were rumors earlier that The Rock would compete in the US Presidential elections in 2024. Rikishi has backed The People’s Champion to become the president adding that a vice president role would not be a fitting position for The Rock. Rikishi had this to say.
“I’m voting for him! I don’t know about being the Vice President. I’ll be voting for him though because I’m not the political cat; I’m just the cat who supports the people!”
Not sure our Founding Fathers ever envisioned a six-four, bald, tattooed, half-Black, half-Samoan, tequila drinking, pick up truck driving, fanny pack wearing guy joining their club – but if it ever happens it’d be my honor to serve the people 🙏🏾💪🏾🇺🇸 https://t.co/6Xd9ADzqX7

The Rock hasn’t appeared in WWE since WrestleMania 32 due to his commitments in Hollywood. But many indicators suggest that he will return to fight his cousin Roman Reigns in the not-so-distant future.
