Roman Reigns has been dominating the world of professional wrestling with his extraordinary title run. The Tribal Chief has had almost a three-year-long reign as the WWE Universal Championship. During these three years, numerous people have tried to come between him and his title. Yet no one has been able to dethrone him.

Looking back at 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic kept Roman Reigns away from the ring. His immunity had been down to zero due to his leukemia. However, he took the entire WWE Universe into a wave of enthrallment when he returned back to the company just before Payback took place on August 30, 2020, in Florida.

The former WWE Universal Champion Bray Wyatt aka The Fiend was all set to defend the title against Braun Strowman. Once the two stars absorbed themselves into the match, Roman signed the contract and entered the match thrashing both men. After almost a 15-minute-long match, Roman Reigns finally clinched the win after pinning Braun Strowman with his iconic ‘Spear.’
When will Roman Reigns hit 1000 days as WWE Universal Champion?
Roman Reigns entered his second WWE Universal Championship run in August 2020. Nobody at that time thought that the title reign would turn into a legendary run. The Tribal Chief has crossed over 950 days of his run and has been leaving his golden trails in the history of WWE. He is less than 50 days away from crossing the 1000 mark on WWE’s records.

During his title reign, Roman Reigns has defeated multiple top names in the company including Cody Rhodes, Edge, Rey Mysterio, and many others. While there has been a lot of praise for the current Undisputed WWE Universal Champion, many from the WWE Universe want the title to change hands now. However, it was Roman Reigns who took the responsibility of managing the company during the COVID-19 pandemic and kept the audience all hyped up for WWE.
KOTR Potential Name Change to Night of Champions
— Xero News (@NewsXero) April 11, 2023
I have asked about this and have been advised the name change is potentially due to the planned 1000 days Celebration for Roman.
Multiple sources claim that the WWE has been planning to put Reigns across the 1000-day mark and then consider a title change. With both the titles restricted to Reigns, the storyline of the men’s division on the main roster is revolving without a title. This has angered the fans and disses the title unification that took place in the past.
