Current WWE Superstar Ronda Rousey’s fame as a female athlete knows no bounds. She is undeniably one of the most popular sports personalities in the world. Rousey was one of the Four Horsewomen of MMA when she spearheaded the rise of women in the sport. She also made a name for herself by becoming one of the hardest-hitting UFC fighters in the world and being crowned the first-ever female champion in UFC.

Ronda Rousey has also turned heads since entering the squared circle. In WWE, she has already amassed three women’s titles and has also become a fan favorite through her understanding of the business and her in-ring expertise. With her fame, there are also instances when she is called out by other notable names in female sports.

Each day for the next week I’m going to call on well-known female athletes to take a stance on this issue because silence is complicity…we need their voices.

Day 2: @RondaRousey how do you feel about males competing against women?

In one such instance, 12-time All-American swimmer Riley Gaines called out the star on Twitter. Riley is known for her activism against transgender people partaking in female-dominated sports. She recently announced that, as part of her campaign, Gaines would call out notable female athletes for their silence on the matter. The University of Kentucky swimmer stated on Twitter that “silence is complicity,” and for this reason, she would be calling out female legends of different sports to share their voice on the matter and would continue so for a week.

In her first tweet, the swimmer-turned-activist called out tennis legends Serena and Venus Williams. However, day two of the campaign saw her call out Ronda Rousey. The former women’s champion has yet to respond to her tweet. .

Ronda Rousey is currently out of action with an injury

The former UFC Champion has set the world alight since hanging up her octagon gloves and trading professions by entering the wrestling ring. Rousey lost her SmackDown Women’s Title to Charlotte Flair late last year. Since then, The Baddest Woman on the Planet has teamed up with Shayna Baszler. The Queen of Spades has helped Rousey take out several female superstars.

The two women also competed in the Fatal Four Way Showcase Tag Team match at WrestleMania 39. They fought against Chelsea Green & Sonya Deville, Natalya & Shotzi, and Liv Morgan & Raquel Rodriguez to emerge victorious on Night Two of the Show of Shows. However, the former women’s champion, along with her ally, have been missing in action since.
