What is the history behind WWE brand split
The brand split first took place in 2002. It happened after WWE bought WCW, which added more superstars to the already stacked WWE roster. The draft was first called the ‘WWE Draft Lottery’. But since 2007, it was simply called the WWE Draft.

Since then, WWE has held a total of sixteen drafts. The superstars would be shuffled between RAW and SmackDown, also promoting talents to the main roster from NXT.
When is the 2022 WWE Draft?
It looks like WWE is ready to shake up the roster for both brands and will be hosting the 2022 Draft in September. WWE has a busy September with the Clash At The Castle premium live event in Cardiff which will be the first major WWE show in the UK for almost three decades.

Dave Meltzer from Wrestling Observer Newsletter said that the Draft could also take place in August after the SummerSlam premium live event. Meltzer had this to say.
“Ringside News reported that the WWE draft was tentatively scheduled for September. A WWE source told us that it could be August, right after SummerSlam, or could be September. No date was finalized but the gut feeling was after SummerSlam or in the lead up to the Cardiff show, but it’s definitely right now set for that time frame.”
Fans speculated about the ending of the brand split after several superstars appeared on both RAW and SmackDown after WrestleMania 38. But WWE hasn’t revealed any information regarding these speculations. Which superstars do you think will change brands this year? Drop your comments below.
