The Tribal Chief Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar are set to face each other at WrestleMania 38 in a ‘Winner Takes All‘ match. So we can assume that WWE will unify the titles. Let’s take a look at 5 things that can happen if the top titles are unified. Before I start, I would like to give a shout out to Instagram user and YouTuber @burnitdownyt for giving me this idea.
A New WWE Title
The most obvious thing is that we will be getting a new Title. We might see a new title revealed at WrestleMania 38. Or depending on the winner, it can be on Raw or SmackDown. (My prediction is Roman Reigns). WWE has provided two new title designs and both look fantastic. So I truly hope that the new design is not a generic one. I would even be satisfied if they just bring back the old World Heavyweight Title.
More challengers
Whoever becomes the Undisputed champion will be pull double duty. With that being said, the Champion will not be limited to wrestling only superstars from one brand and can explore both brands and provide more challengers and in turn lead to building more stars. Superstars like Ricochet, Mansoor and even Dominik Mysterio can all get opportunities at the top title.
All WWE titles get unified
It would not surprise me if WWE decide to unify all the titles in the upcoming months. The Tag titles, Mid-Card Titles and even the Women’s titles.
No more brand split in WWE
If all titles are united, there will be no reason for 2 separate brands and the brand warfare will end. We have the same Authority figures running both shows anyways. This will obviously mean that there will also be no more WWE Drafts. But then again, they could have a draft between NXT and the main roster.
More opportunities
Something that AEW is doing very well is making the fans understand that you do not need a title to build a star. Although the end goal is the title, at the end of the day there can only be one person holding the belt. Having less titles will help more superstars to get an opportunity to wrestle at the Premium Live Events. More non-title feuds will get the spotlight.
These are the 5 possible positive outcomes if the titles are unified at WrestleMania 38. But then again, WWE could do the same thing they did with Keith Lee and Becky Lynch when they won 2 titles.
WWE has held a lot of Unification Matches in the past, even recently on NXT, the North American Title and The Cruiserweight tile were unified.
With all that being said, I think it is a good decision for WWE to unify the titles. This will be the pinnacle that Reigns reaches. It will establish ‘Our‘ Tribal Chief as truly the Head of The Table.
