Triple H is one of the best professional wrestlers in the world. The King of Kings has treated us with several great matches and feuds throughout his career. Recently on ESPN, Triple H announced his retirement from in-ring competition. A few months ago, Triple H suffered a heart attack. He was rushed to the hospital and underwent surgery. Now, The Game has a defibrillator in his chest. Because of that, Triple H cannot compete in the ring and thus had to retire permanently from in-ring competition. Let’s relive some of the best matches of the Game at the Grand Stage.

Best of Triple H

The Game has competed in a total of 23 WrestleManias. Let me talk about my top 3 WrestleMania matches of the Cerebral assassin.

The rise of the Rabid Wolverine

This was the first WrestleMania I watched and this match is one of the major reasons I got hooked on professional wrestling. This main event match will forever be etched in my memory. This was a Triple Threat Match between Shawn Michaels, the then World Heavyweight Champion Triple H and Chris Benoit. Benoit earned a shot at Triple H by winning the 2004 Royal Rumble match.

The three superstars blew the roof of the place. Diving headbutts from Benoit, Sweet Chin Musics from Shawn Michaels and several spine busters and Pedigrees from Triple H. But none of them got the job done. None of the superstars was willing to give up. Winning the match and lifting that World Heavyweight Title to close WrestleMania 21 meant so much for all three superstars. Finally, Chris Benoit locked in the Crippler Cross-face on a bleeding and worn-out Triple H. Triple H tried to escape the hold but Benoit had it locked in tight.  With Michaels also being knocked out, Triple H had no other option but to tap out. Benoit finally reached the top of the mountain and he got to celebrate with his best friend, Eddie Guerrero, who also won the WWE Title earlier in the night.

Triple H vs The Undertaker – WrestleMania 27

On the Road to WrestleMania 27, The Undertaker made his return to WWE after a long hiatus. Triple H, who was out after being attacked by Sheamus also made his return on the same night. The two did not even speak a single word, they just stared at each other and then looked at the WrestleMania logo and that was it the WrestleMania match was made. It was one of the most iconic moments in WWE history.

The match was a ‘No Holds Barred’ match. This was the second time the two faced each other at the Showcase of the Immortals. Both superstars put on one hell of a fight. Triple H was determined to put an end to the Deadman’s streak. But despite all his efforts, Triple H lost to the Undertaker.

End of an era

One of the biggest takeaways at the end of WrestleMania 27 was not the fact that the Streak lived on. But it was rather the fact that the winner of the match, Undertaker needed to be carried out of the ring, while Triple H managed to walk out on his own two feet. The Undertaker wanted a rematch with the Game. After weeks of asking Triple H for a rematch, finally, the Game accepted and it was a Hell in a Cell Match.

It was an exceptional match. Shawn Michaels was the special guest referee. One of the iconic moments during the match was the infamous kick out. The Undertaker took a lot of punishment but still, he refused to give up. Shawn Michaels hit a Sweet Chin Music and Triple H followed it with a Pedigree. Everyone thought this was it, but the Phenom kicked-out at the last second.

Finally, after beating each other up to a pulp, the Undertaker finally picked up the win. At the end of the match, all three legends stood at the entrance ramp and hugged each other. It was an emotional moment and truly the perfect end to the feud.

These are my top 3 WrestleMania matches of Triple H. What are your favourite matches of the Game? Did any of these matches appear on your list too? Let us know.
