Lesnar was first advertised for WrestleMania Backlash by WWE. The posters have released for the said live event. However, WWE has removed Brock Lesnar from the WrestleMania Backlash lineup. He has been away since losing the main event at WrestleMania 38 to Roman Reigns. He was seen waving goodbye to the fans after the match. But WWE has teased Lesnar’s return for SummerSlam.

According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, the former WWE Champion headed home almost immediately after WrestleMania 38. He lost to Roman Reigns in the main event. But Lesnar will very certainly return to WWE television soon. Dave Meltzer, in a recent issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, said that there weren’t any plans with Lesnar for a match and that he wasn’t actually booked for WrestleMania Backlash as speculated previously. Lesnar had considered retirement earlier in 2020. But Lesnar appeared on the Pat McAfee Show where he said that he’s always going to show up if the money is good.
SummerSlam will take place on July 30 at Nissan Stadium in Nashville for the first time. Roman Reigns is currently holding both the WWE and Universal Championships. It’s safe to assume he’ll be in the main event. However, it is unclear who will challenge the “Tribal Chief.” Shinsuke Nakamura confronted Roman Reigns on the Post WrestleMania edition of Smackdown. But the status of their match hasn’t been confirmed yet.
