Throughout his career, Brock Lesnar has been known for his intense athleticism, his intimidating presence, and his ability to dominate his opponents in both professional wrestling and MMA. The expression on his opponent’s face fades away as soon as his music hits. His fans have always been curious to know about the entrance theme song for Brock Lesnar over the years.
In 2002, Brock Lesnar made his WWE debut on Raw after making his name outside of the biggest wrestling promotion. In his first year in WWE, Lesnar won the King of the Ring tournament. And then defeated The Rock to become the youngest WWE champion in history at the age of 25. Soon, he was seen as the next big thing in the company.
However, Brock’s WWE career was interrupted in 2004 when he left the company to pursue other opportunities. Including a stint in the NFL and a successful career in mixed martial arts. However, apart from his in-ring athleticism and strength, The Beast Incarnate is also known for his hard-hitting entrance theme song, “Next Big Thing”.
“The Next Big Thing” is a heavy metal instrumental track that features distorted guitars and powerful drums. Which perfectly matches Lesnar’s intense and dominant persona. While the song does not feature any lyrics, it’s still enough to fire up the crowd. The song was composed by Jim Johnston, who was a long-time music producer for WWE.
How Brock Lesnar’s entrance song was created?
While the theme song is the perfect fit for Brock Lesnar, it actually had a different thought behind it. Originally, Jim Johnston was assigned to compose the music for some other purpose. “The Next Big Thing” was primarily produced to be the entrance theme for the XFL team, the Chicago Enforcers.
However, the theme was eventually adopted as Lesnar’s theme song while making his way to the ring. Since then, the entrance theme of The Beast Incarnate has stayed the same and is least expected to be replaced in the future. The main reason is that it remains the most closely associated with Lesnar’s legendary career in WWE.
Apart from WWE, Brock used several different entrance theme songs during his time in UFC. The former UFC heavyweight champion used to enter the octagon with songs by legendary artists such as Metallica, Motley Crue, and more. Nevertheless, Lesnar never used “The Next Big Thing” music anywhere outside of the WWE.
