Ronda Rousey is widely recognized as one of the most influential and dominant female fighters in the history of MMA. During her UFC career, Ronda remained undefeated for several years and became the first-ever UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion. After her MMA career, Rousey ventured into professional wrestling, joining WWE in 2018. She further showcased her versatility as an athlete by achieving success in WWE as well.
Ronda Rousey has also made a notable transition into the world of Hollywood. Following her successful MMA career, she began pursuing opportunities in acting. And has appeared in several films and television shows. Rousey made her acting debut in 2014 with a small role in the movie “The Expendables 3”. In 2015, Rousey starred in the action film “Furious 7,” part of the popular “Fast & Furious” franchise.
During her interview with The Hollywood Reporter, The Baddest Woman on the Planet reflected on her career in Hollywood. She stated that while a lot of actresses appear in action movies, they can’t be considered ‘female action stars, also mentioning Angelina Jolie. The former UFC champion revealed Milla Jovovich to be her favorite actress.
“I love Angelina Jolie, but … it’s about believability for me. Milla Jovovich is one of my favorite actresses — The Fifth Element really opened my eyes, and the Resident Evil franchise was amazing. People love chick fights. They love tough, empowered women. And there is a demand. People just don’t know it,” Ronda further added.
Rousey continued to expand her acting career with appearances in movies such as “Entourage” (2015), and “Mile 22” (2018). She also starred in the sports drama film “The Ronda Rousey Story”(2019). In addition to her film roles, Rousey has made appearances on various television shows as well.

In the same interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Ronda also disclosed how she wanted to be the next The Rock of the entertainment industry. “My agent, [WME’s] Brad Slater, kept telling me, ‘You’re going to be the female Rock.’ Then I started to believe it could be a reality. So definitely a mix of Milla Jovovich and The Rock is what I’m going for,” Ronda admitted.
While Ronda and The Rock have gone their separate ways in the film industry, their paths have been intertwined at times. Johnson and Rousey have shared the big screen with the movie “Furious 7” (2015). Prior to that, they appeared together in a segment at WrestleMania 31 in 2015.
