Brock Lesnar is one of the most accomplished combat sports athletes in the world. He is not only a household name thanks to his accolades in WWE but also because he was a major part of UFC and other pro wrestling promotions. The former Universal Champion is widely recognized by fans to be a heavy draw and a focal point of any show he appears in.
The Beast Incarnate first made it big after becoming a two-time NCAA Division All-American winner in 1999 and 2000. Shortly after his NCAA antics, he signed with WWE and was sent to their then-developmental brand Ohio Valley Wrestling. He debuted on the main roster in 2002 as the ‘Next Big Thing.’ In an in-ring career that has spanned for almost twenty years, Lesnar has won ten world titles, two Royal Rumbles, and has won the Money in the Bank briefcase as well.
Brock Lesnar first left WWE in 2004 and moved to Japan to ply his trade. The Beast Incarnate won several accolades there before turning his attention to the world of Mixed Martial Arts in the UFC. Brock Lesnar made his UFC debut in 2008 and won the Heavyweight Championship at UFC 91, with two subsequent successful defenses. He lost the title to Frank Mir and then went on to retire from the octagon. Lesnar then returned to UFC in 2016 and won at UFC 200 against Mark Hunt. The decision was later overruled after he tested positive for banned substances.
Brock Lesnar made a name for himself in NJPW and has appeared in the NFL Madden game
Following his first hiatus from WWE, Brock Lesnar made his presence felt in New Japan Pro-Wrestling. The Beast Incarnate won the IWGP Heavyweight Championship in 2005 in a three-way fight. He was later stripped of the title after failing to defend it due to visa issues.
However, during the inaugural event of the Inoki Genome Federation, legendary Japanese pro wrestler the late Antonio Inoki wanted Lesnar to defend the title against Kurt Angle, recognizing the former as the true IWGP World Champion as he was never defeated for the title.
Following his initial departure from WWE, Lesnar signed up for the NFL. He made a mark in NFL Combine, but a freak accident, combined with injuries, derailed his football career. He was later included in the Madden NFL ‘06 game, which was his first appearance in a non-wrestling game. At 45, Lesnar is nearing the end of his wrestling career. It remains to be seen when he decides to call it a day.
