Apart from having dominated the tennis circuit for nearly two decades, Venus Williams also loves engaging with her fans and followers frequently on social media platforms.
The 42-year-old has been running circles around top professionals in the WTA Tour ever since she first stepped foot in the sport and in her leisure time loves exploring new possibilities aimed at providing the tennis community with more insight into her life.
Owing to reason as such, Williams has a dedicated YouTube channel to her name to which she uploaded a video discussing her favorite rappers and people who came from the same town as her, Compton, Los Angeles, and made it into the spotlight.
In a Q&A video released on her channel, Venus takes up several questions posed by her potential fans, notably one of which explicitly asks her about her favorite rappers saying “Your top 3 rappers of all time?”
Enlightening the community with her response, Williams pointed out her love for hip-hop having emerged over rap. “I don’t listen to as much rap. I listen to more hip-hop, always been a hip-hop girl. You might not like my answers for this, don’t hate me but I love Lil Wayne and Tupac (Shakur) of course.”
The 7-time Grand Slam champion’s singers making the top of her playlist although came off as an impeccable choice, also pointed out her infatuation for artists who made it from the ghetto despite having a long history of rap sheets.
Diving further into her list of favorite artists, Venus also mentioned her liking for rapper Juicy J and further told fans about her female artist likings saying “I love Nicki Minaj, you can’t beat that. She’s great, big fan.”
Having portrayed her humble nature, Williams also told her fans that her rap knowledge isn’t as good as it’s supposed to be, and would appreciate it if she is assisted in learning more about it.
Venus Williams aims to play a “fearless” 2023 season
Despite being knocked to the sidelines at the beginning of the 2023 season due to an abrupt hamstring injury she faced while performing at the ASB Classic in Auckland, Venus Williams has revealed her comeback plans and aims at unleashing the best version of herself.
In a Q&A session, Williams participated with her fans via her fashion brand’s EleVen Instagram handle, the former world No. 1 was asked about her goals for the 2023 season to which she enthusiastically replied by writing “To reach my potential and play fearless.”

Venus is currently recovering from the injury she sustained earlier this season and will potentially be looking forward to the year’s upcoming slams as she was forced to withdraw her name from the Australian Open 2023 after being ridiculed by a hamstring injury.
