Sean O’Malley surprised the world August 20 when he defeated Aljamain Sterling at UFC 292 to win the bantamweight title. The title has only added fuel to O’Malley’s rise to become the biggest star of the promotion. However, the most talked-about thing about O’Malley currently is his open relationship with his wife, Danya Gonzalez.
While Sean O’Malley has talked about his unorthodox relationship with his wife in various interviews and podcasts, his recent comments on Bradley Martin’s Raw Talk podcast have made news. In the podcast, O’Malley expressed that his position as a UFC star and his ‘status’ allow him to be in an open relationship with his wife and therefore sleep with other women. He further adds that things would have been different had he been an ordinary man.
Previously also, O’Malley had disclosed his history of engaging in relationships with multiple women despite being married. He also discussed his perspective on marriage as a highly restrictive concept. However, this time around, his words caught the eyes of UFC legend Vitor Belfort, who was disgusted by O’Malley’s thoughts.
Vitor made a tweet criticizing O’Malley’s comments and expressing how bad a role model he is for the coming generations. He then also questioned Suga’s actions as a father, as he thinks the UFC bantamweight champion is a good fighter but not an ideal dad. “While you may be a great fighter, your actions as a father and husband are deplorable,” said Vitor Belfort.
O’Malley has faced substantial criticism for his personal choice. Nevertheless, it appears that these negative reactions do not impact the star fighter significantly, as he continues to talk about his open relationship quite freely.

The former UFC champion, Vitor Belfort, did not just stop after criticizing Sean O’Malley. He also expressed his desire to teach Sean O’Malley a lesson inside the boxing ring. Belfort added that he was sure that UFC boss Dana White will not be happy with the fight, but many women will surely be interested in seeing Vitor beating up Sean and will buy the PPVs for it.
While some think that Sean’s actions and thoughts are actually terrible and would affect his daughter the most, many are of the opinion that Vitor Belfort was just looking for a big celebrity boxing match, and it cannot be bigger than a crossover fight with the UFC champion.
