We’ve said it once, and we’ll say it again; watching Lita on our screens in 2022 is a blessing. The WWE Hall of Famer competed in her first single’s match since losing to Mickie James at Survivor Series 2006. While Lita coming up short against “Big Time” Becks wasn’t shocking, what surprised us was how great the match was. After 12 minutes and 15 seconds of excellent back-and-forth action between the two superstars, we have no option but to agree with the crowd in the Jeddah SuperDome last night; Lita does, indeed, still got it.
Lita has tangled with the current women’s roster before
For a very long time, we thought that Heath Slater v/s Lita from Raw 1000 was the last time we’d see Amy Dumas in singles competition. Thanks to the Women’s Revolution, that is no longer a concern.
Lita has competed in 2 Women’s Royal Rumble matches since it debuted in 2018. She was also a key part of WWE’s all-women’s Premium Live Event Evolution, where she took on Alicia Fox and Mickie James alongside her best friend/greatest rival, Trish Stratus.
And ever since Stratus put in a performance of a lifetime at SummerSlam 2019, fans had been aching to see Lita back in singles-competition. 2 and a half years later, the former Team Xtreme member got the chance to turn that dream into reality.
The Elimination Chamber match could have been very different
When Lita made her return during the 2022 Women’s Royal Rumble match, it looked like we were going to get a completely different match. The Hall of Famer lasted 10 minutes in the match before being dumped out by Charlotte Flair. That seemed to be the direction that WWE was going to go in, as Lita rocked up on Smackdown the next week and slapped the taste out of the Queen’s mouth.
She said as much herself in an interview with Alistair McGeorge from The Metro:
“When they came to ask me if I wanted to challenge Becky, I thought they were gonna ask if I wanted to challenge Charlotte – but I had no idea” – The Metro
Lita won the hearts of every fan in the Jeddah SuperDome
From the moment she made her entrance, to the time the final bell bung, the former 4-time Women’s Champion had the crowd eating out of her hands.

KICK OUT?! @AmyDumas vs. @BeckyLynchWWE is awesome. #WWEChamber pic.twitter.com/aWQuQgabQr— WWE (@WWE) February 19, 2022
Every move she’d make, every near fall she scored drew audible gasps and by the time she hit her iconic moonsault, everyone was convinced that the WWE Hall of Famer had this in the bag.

Massive props to Becky Lynch as well for being the perfect dancing partner for Lita. Lynch’s selling of Lita’s offense was pitch-perfect, and her post-match comments show just how much she respect her childhood idol. You could tell how emotionally-impactful the match was for both women, as Lita lingered to interact with the crowd after.

It was unreal to see the WWE Universe in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia give Lita her flowers the way they did. Though she didn’t get the job done, the Hall of Famer did what she does best; and that’s putting on a goddamn show. We’re hoping beyond hope that this isn’t the end of Lita in WWE; and if the clip below is any indication, so is she.
