Gionna Daddio, aka Liv Morgan, is currently a part of WWE. Not to mention, in the Stamford-based promotion, she performs in the RAW brand division. Meanwhile, Morgan previously became a part of WWE in 2014. Following that, she began performing in the NXT brand division.
After showcasing her skills in NXT, she became a part of the main roster in 2017. During that, she participated in several storylines and feuds as a member of the stable, ‘The Riott Squad’. Not to mention, the faction also consisted of Ruby Riott and Sarah Logan.
However, after the stable disbanded, Morgan embarked on her singles run. During that, she became the 2022 Women’s Money in the Bank winner and also won the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship once. With that, going forward, she teamed up with Raquel Rodriguez, and they won the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship a record two times.
Thereafter, Liv got involved in a feud with Rhea Ripley. This resulted in Ripley brutally attacking Morgan with a steel chair. Soon, Liv went on a hiatus as it was reported that she had suffered a shoulder injury. Meanwhile, she made her return to WWE television at the 2024 Women’s Royal Rumble match.
Moving ahead, Liv attacked Rhea in a backstage segment. However, this led to Ripley being legitimately injured and forced to vacate the Women’s World Championship. On the other hand, Becky Lynch won the vacant title by winning a 14-woman battle royal.

This led to Liv challenging Lynch for the title. With that, Morgan now has a huge match scheduled ahead of her. She will be facing Becky for the Women’s World Championship at the upcoming King and Queen of the Ring Premium Live Event. However, prior to that, Liv recently appeared for a conversation with Chris Van Vliet. During that, she talked about wrestling, and here’s what she said.
Liv Morgan fell in love with wrestling at a young age
During Liv Morgan’s conversation with Chris Van Vliet, she revealed that she fell in love with her profession at a very young age. Chris Van Vliet asked her, “When did you first fall in love with wrestling?” To this, Morgan said, “When I was 5 years old. When I was very very young.”
She then mentioned that she has four older brothers who love wrestling. She also added that her father was a huge wrestling fan. Morgan said that her brothers kept the love for wrestling alive and later introduced it to her. She said that the moment she got introduced to wrestling, she fell in love right away.
Morgan added that she grew up in a “chaotic household.” She said, “So when wrestling came on it was like my couple hours of like pure escapism and I know that’s like cliche but I loved, loved anytime it was on and I’d cry if I missed one minute.”
Thereafter, Chris asked her which wrestlers she looked up to. To this end, the WWE star mentioned that she loved Lita, the Hardy Boys, Edge, aka Adam Copeland, Christian Cage, the Dudley Boyz, Shawn Michaels, Triple H, and Chyna.
She said that she could go on and on and named Trish Stratus. Liv added that she loved all of them and their physicality. She also added that she enjoyed the stories, and when she used to watch them, she used to get lost in them. Thereafter, she was asked when she realized that her love for wrestling might turn into something she did for a living.
Liv said, “I always had hoped but I never really thought I’d be able to do it.” She added that she grew up poor with no money or connections. Morgan said that she never thought that someone like her could ever make it to the WWE. She further added that she always dreamed of becoming a WWE wrestler.
She then said, “So, I have to pinch myself moments every single day because I got to fulfill my craziest childhood dream.” Thus, it seems Morgan fell in love with wrestling at an exceptionally young age. Not only that, she eventually turned her dream of joining WWE into a reality.
Liv Morgan details how she got into WWE
Liv Morgan recently talked about fulfilling her childhood dream of becoming a WWE star. With that, many fans might wonder how she got into WWE. Meanwhile, the fan-favorite superstar opened up about how she became a part of the largest wrestling promotion in the world.
Chris Van Vliet asked her if she had been discovered at a gym. To this, Morgan said, “I got discovered at Hooters.” She added that everyone at Hooters knew she loved wrestling. When she was doing her bar shifts at Hooters, she would put WWE on the television, and according to her, everyone knew it was her thing.
Morgan then added, “Apparently, before my time, there was a wrestler who will not be named that used to manage this specific Hooters.” She said that anytime the wrestler was in town, he would go to Hooters. Liv said she knew the wrestler since she was a big WWE fan. She added, “So, I talked to this wrestler for a while and I was like I wanna wrestler and they’re kind of just like ‘haha yeah’.”
Morgan said that she had enlightened the wrestler with all her wrestling knowledge, and he was convinced that she loved wrestling. She then mentioned that the wrestler introduced her to a man named Joe DeFranco. She added that Joe DeFranco is a popular strength and conditioning coach who only trains professional athletes. He also trains Triple H on a weekly basis.
Liv said that she went to his gym, and he told her to get along with the NFL guys. She mentioned that she had never worked out prior to that. However, in her mind, she took it as a WWE tryout and gave it her all. She added that she worked with him for a couple of days, and he was impressed with her resilience.
She mentioned that, though she struggled with everything, she didn’t quit. With that, Joe DeFranco reached out to WWE for her, for which she said that she would be forever grateful to him. However, she missed out on the tryout camp, and the WWE management informed her that they would have another camp in six months.
With that, Liv mentioned that she trained with DeFranco for several hours every day. She said that she would train in the morning and then do her Hooter shifts. Thereafter, her tryout came, and she was very well prepared. Finally, Morgan added, “I got signed and it was just like the craziest blessing in my whole entire life.”
Thus, Morgan’s job at Hooters played a huge role in her getting into WWE since she met the professional wrestler at Hooters, who introduced her to Triple H’s trainer Joe DeFranco. However, as of now, she has made a huge name for herself, and her beloved fans always look forward to updates about her.
