How much is Sabrina Ionescu’s deal with Nike worth?
Sabrina Ionescu signed a multi-year endorsement with Nike shortly after she was drafted as the No.1 overall pick in the 2020 WNBA Draft. She was projected to become one of the top athletes in the league. Ionescu was the first basketball player in the NCAA to record over 2,000 points with 1,000+ rebounds and assists. Additionally, she was very impressive with her triple-double stat lines.
While the worth of her deal with Nike was initially disclosed, sources claim that the contract is worth up to $24 million. Her signature line was released on September 1, 2023, three years after she signed the massive contract. Since then, they have worked on multiple colorways such as Beyond The Game, Apple Green, Oreos, Wolf Grey, and University Gold, just to name a few.
“It was cool to see her attention to detail and knowledge of what we did. From a creation standpoint, her partnership was really refreshing. She was very vocal out of the gate. Even at that early stage, she was very engaged, very vocal,” said Benjamin Nethongkome, the brand’s senior footwear designer. He also claimed that she was involved in the design of the shoe from the get-go. It is safe to say that fans can expect some more customized colorways and designs soon.
