Keenan Alexander Allen, more popularly known as Keenan Allen is a wide receiver who plays for the NFL team, the Los Angeles Chargers. He played college football for the California Golden Bears football team. Allen was selected by the Los Angeles Chargers (then San Diego Chargers) in the third round of the 2013 NFL Draft as the 76th overall pick.
Recently, Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Keenan Allen crossed a career record of 10,000 career receiving yards on November 6, 2023, against the New York Jets. Allen marked the event with a superb 23-yard left-handed catch. The Chargers got the better of the Jets, as they won 27-16.
Keenan Allen is second in the franchise’s history to record 10,000 yards after Antonio Gates. He is currently second on the list behind Gates in terms of yards and receptions. Allen became the 54th player in NFL history to surpass 10,000 yards.
This moment was celebrated by all of his fans and supporters, but most by his wife, Ciandra Monique. She posted an Instagram story on her account about Allen’s feat with the caption, “he like that” with a goat emoji. She has been a constant support for Allen and was proud of her husband’s achievement.
Keenan Allen and Ciandra Monique met in 2010, and Allen proposed on her birthday (May 26, 2017) in front of friends and family and got married in 2022. The couple has three children together: two daughters named Kamari and Kaliyah and a son, Kado Alexander Allen.
Keenan Allen feels all his hard work has finally paid off
Keenan Allen was very happy with his milestone but acknowledged that he had achieved it after putting in years of hard work. He also talked about the value of experience in the game and how it has helped him progress. Keenan revealed that all the coaches he has ever had have given him the same advice. To stack up the seasons and wins, which will eventually lead to accumulating records.
“I mean, it’s been 11 years, this is my 11th season, so I mean once you can stack up the years, all the coaches that I’ve always had, they’ve always said stack ’em up,” he said. “Stack up the seasons, stack up the wins. Once you start to do that, then you start to accumulate”.

For Los Angeles Chargers head coach Brandon Stanley, Allen’s success is no surprise. He said Keenan Allen has managed to write history because he works every day for it. Stanley also praised the levels of consistency that Allen possesses and said the latter is the perfect example of consistent performance.
“To be a part of history, I think all of us know why he made history, cause everyone that’s been with him sees what he does on a day-to-day basis, and he’s the ultimate standard to me of consistency,” Staley said. “You don’t get to 10,000 yards without being that ultimate example of consistency, so I’m really happy for him”.
Among active players, Keenan Allen is currently sixth in line. He is behind Julio Jones (13,640), DeAndre Hopkins (11,862), Mike Evans (11,019), Travis Kelce (10,941), and Davante Adams (10,210). With the way he’s performing, this position can certainly go a lot higher.
