Soccer fans around the world are in for fascinating times ahead with the upcoming launch of the latest entry in the world of soccer games, UFL. Developed by Strikerz Inc., the game will be powered by Unreal Engine 5, providing gamers with a never-before-seen experience. Under development since 2016, the product has witnessed multiple delays since, but now finally looks to enter the market, allowing soccer fans to try their hand at the game.
In an announcement made by the social media handle of UFL, the developers announced that the UFL Open Beta will be taking place from June 7-9. The news has stirred excitement amongst the supporters who have waited patiently for years for the game to come out. The Open Beta will provide the users an early chance to play the game and share their feedback, enabling the developers to make corrections before launching the final version.
EA Sports has dominated the soccer video game market for more than three decades now. Fans have often expressed their disappointment with the lack of advancement in the flagship product of EA Sports over the years. Consequently, UFL provides hope to video game enthusiasts for a competitive and better future for the virtual world in soccer.
UFL set to launch on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S
UFL will be entering the soccer game market as free-to-play. The primary motive of the developers is to get away from the ‘pay-to-win’ model adopted by the largest soccer video game, EA Sports FC. UFL will be solely available on consoles, including PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. With time, additional features like career mode, player mode, and more will be launched providing the users with a comprehensive experience.
Strikerz Inc. is fortunate enough to be backed by soccer legend, Cristiano Ronaldo. The Portuguese reportedly invested $40 million into the development of UFL in 2023 and will feature as the cover star for the first-ever edition of the game. In addition, they have also managed to secure licenses for some top European clubs, including the likes of Rangers, Celtic, Monaco, West Ham United, and Sporting Lisbon, among others.
