Polish tennis star Iga Swiatek is gearing up for the new season. Swiatek had a successful year on the whole, despite facing several roadblocks along the way. The world no. 1 managed to overcome them all through sheer strength of determination. Swiatek is one of the most dominant players on the tour, and in the latest development, fans are excited to see something she has been working on.
Iga has left her stamp of authority on the tennis court. She has won 17 titles, including four Grand Slams and the WTA Finals, in her career so far. Swiatek has already accomplished so much, but there is one aspect of her game that is weaker than the rest. It is her serve, especially her second serve.
A recent video of the Pole has surfaced on social media. Swiatek can be seen practicing her serves, but it looks different from her usual service and follow-through motion.

Swiatek’s serve is not her greatest asset, and there is room for improvement, as many have pointed out. She is prone to making faults, and her opponents have also cashed in on her weak second serve.
Iga has been working on it, as her arm and racket movements are different and the motion looks more compact. A few eagle-eyed fans noticed how Iga’s serve now resembles that of Novak Djokovic’s, “It’s like Djokovic motion serve.” Another fan pointed out that Iga was not leaning too much on her back leg anymore.

Iga Swiatek truly has a chance to go down as one of the best in history if she can just tighten up a few things. She has enough shots in her arsenal to win several more titles.
A former star thinks Iga Swiatek can win the Australian Open
Former Australian player Rennae Stubbs thinks Iga has what it takes to win the Australian Open next year. Iga underwent a lot of trials this year and came out much stronger. Stubbs thus believes that Swiatek will absorb the pressures of the tour and play even better next season.
Swiatek managed to defend her French Open title successfully. Moreover, she won the China Open, a WTA 1000 event, and the WTA Finals back-to-back. Iga capped off the year as the world’s number-one player for the second consecutive year. It is not surprising, therefore, that Iga won the WTA Player of the Year Award yet again.
Thanks to the lessons Swiatek learned this year, Stubbs thinks Iga can win the first Grand Slam of the year. “I think she (Swiatek) is by far the favorite now going into the Australian Open. I think what she did this year was a learning experience about how to handle the pressure,” she said on her podcast.
Iga Swiatek has the perfect opportunity to add another feather to her cap. Before the season begins, Swiatek will play at the World Tennis League in Abu Dhabi, starting December 21.
