Novak Djokovic is someone who has an appetite for doing things to perfection, and this applies not only to tennis. One such occasion when Novak Djokovic impressed to perfection, was with his quest to entertain at the Paris Masters, which predominantly takes place during the festival of Halloween.
It was the 2012 event when Novak Djokovic was about to take over the world No.1 ranking from Roger Federer. He decided to make an appearance as the ultimate villain for his match against Sam Querrey. He wore the Darth Vader mask while he made his arrival on the court. The decision to sport such a mask seemed befitting of him, as he was someone who donned the villain role on more occasions than one.
This was not the first time that Djoker Nole had kept up the spirits of people as he had already masked up like other characters before, during Halloween. Other characters that he chose to don include Batman, the Joker, and the guy wearing glasses with a broad mustache.

Reactions from fans started pouring in for his costumes and many of them were hilarious, to say the least. One of the most prominent reactions read, “A mustache with glasses makes him handsome rather than scary !“ while others chose to laud him saying, “Nothing is more frightening for opponents than seeing @DjokerNole across the net.” Another fan felt, “Agree. Handsome in a retro way.”

But, the mask didn’t bring him as much luck as he would have liked in the match, losing out to Sam Querrey in a tough three-setter, 0-6, 7-6(5), 6-4. On a hilarious note, Novak would do well to wear the mask during the match next time around, so as to intimidate his opponent.
Records held by Novak Djokovic at the Paris Masters
Paris is a city that is known by a number of names and the one that stands out among them is the City of Records. Though the name that instantly pops up in our mind is Rafael Nadal, holding the record for the most no. of Grand Slam wins at Roland Garros, another player has a string of impressive records to his name at the indoor hard-courts of the city at Bercy.
It’s none other than Novak Djokovic, who has won the title for a record six times. The Serb will be looking to improve on his record when he takes to the court this week and he is the odds-on favorite to clinch the sixth title of another stellar season. To go with his six titles, Djoker also has the most final appearances with eight, being runner-up in 2018 and 2022.
Novak’s best phase at the Paris Masters came when he reeled off three straight titles between 2013 and 2015. The fact that he did so without dropping a set is even more noteworthy and it is a fact, that no other player has gone on to make three consecutive finals, let alone winning it in Bercy.
Djokovic also has played the most number of matches at the final Masters 1000 event of the season and has won a staggering 45 out of them. Another record to savor would be that he will be playing his 17th tournament this year and his winning streak of 17 matches in succession is the longest by any player at the event. The Serb will look to add to those records at the 2023 Paris Masters.
