Matthew Brett Cardona, aka Matt Cardona, is a popular name in the world of professional wrestling. Not to mention, he is currently a part of Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA). In addition to that, he can also be seen performing on the Independent Circuit.
Meanwhile, Matt Cardona is well known among fans for his time in WWE, where he performed from 2006 to 2020. Also, during his time in the Stamford-based promotion, he was known by the name of Zack Ryder. In WWE, Cardona participated in several storylines and bagged many championships to his name.
This includes winning the WWE Intercontinental Championship once, the United States Championship once, and more. Meanwhile, in 2020, Cardona was released from his WWE contract as a result of COVID-19 pandemic budget cuts. With that, several years have passed since then. However, now it seems Ryder wants to go back to the Stamford-based promotion.
Matt Cardona expresses his desire to return to WWE
Recently, Matt Cardona, aka Zack Ryder, appeared for an interview with Chris Van Vliet. During that, he expressed his desire to return to WWE. Cardona said, “I’ll put it out there. One goal that I could say for a long time, is to win that WWE championship. That’s not a lie.”
He added, “Listen, when I got released, the goal was not to get back to WWE, it wasn’t like ‘oh what can I do to make them notice me?’, ‘What can I do to get back to WWE?’ You can’t think like that, I certainly can’t.”
Cardona then said that he would be lying if he said he never wanted to wrestle in Madison Square Garden ever again or he never wanted to have a match at WrestleMania. He added that he wants all of those because WWE is number one.
Finally, the former WWE star said that he doesn’t plan to go back to the Stamford-based promotion as soon as possible, but he would love to go back before he decides to hang up his boots. Thus, it seems Ryder not only wants to go back to WWE, but he also wants to fulfill his unfinished dream of winning the WWE Championship when he makes his return to the Stamford-based promotion.

Not only that, but Cardona might also challenge for the WWE championship during his appearance. Thus, with crossovers happening between TNA and WWE, Zack Ryder might be able to fulfill his dream sooner rather than later. Whatever the case, fans will look forward to Ryder’s return to the largest wrestling promotion in the world.
