While Donte likely did not mean to take a shot at his former teammate, there is no denying that Curry fans will take offense to him being called passive. In order to understand if Steph is truly a passive player, fans need to take a closer look at his playing style.
Is Steph Curry a ball-dominant player?
Every point guard in the league has their own style and one could argue that Steph isn’t even a stereotypical point guard. Although he is a brilliant passer, there is no denying that Curry is viewed as much more of a scorer as opposed to a facilitator.
This is where things get interesting. While Curry does score the ball very effectively, he does so without handling it for too long. The majority of his shots come as he runs around screens to get open for a split second. There is far less isolation-style ball-dominant basketball in his playstyle.
Therefore, it would appear that Steph is passive and doesn’t take control of the game. After all, he also relies on his teammates to help him get open and find him at the perfect moment. In any case, fans can decide for themselves if Steph is a more passive or aggressive type of player.
