The 18-year-old Carlos Alcaraz suffered a disappointing loss in the ongoing Monte Carlos Masters 2022. The Spanish athlete has had a good game run this year, given his title accomplishments. He won the Rio Open followed by the Miami Masters 2022, wherein he was the youngest one to win the latter. Carlos also advanced up to the semi-finals of the Indian Wells Masters 2022 before he lost to Rafael Nadal.
In addition, Alcaraz has been gaining praise and popularity from all over the tennis fraternity for his game and achievements. Austrian player Dominic Thiem, Novak Djokovic, and Rafael Nadal were among others who acknowledged the young lad’s game.
However, Carlos Alcaraz’s journey at the ongoing ATP 1000 tournament was cut short by the American tennis player Sebastian Korda.
Carlos Alcaraz does not let people’s expectations affect his game
In the Round 32 of the Monte Carlo Masters 2022, Carlos Alcaraz was defeated by Sebastian Korda in a three-setter game. Despite giving a tough fight, the Spaniard went down by figures- 6-7, 7-6 and 3-6 against his American opponent.
In the post-match press conference, Alcaraz expressed his opinion about the loss. The 18-year-old stated- “I’m a bit disappointed with myself. I had a lot of chances to be up in the match and close to winning, but these losses sometimes [are] good to live. You have to play matches.”
The current World No.11 said that the factors like wind and other difficult conditions played a part in making the game tougher.

Besides, Alcaraz also shared what he will be concentrating on henceforth. He said- “I’m ready to [go] back [to] training and focus on the next tournaments. It [was] a tough match, but I think mentally I’m ready to play these kind of matches, long matches, and tough matches. I mean, mentally and physically, I’m ready.”
Moreover, Carlos complimented his opponent Sebastian Korda as being a great player.
