Date: 1st December 2021

Time: 7:30  p.m. ET.

The Philadelphia 76ers take on the Boston Celtics in an intense eastern conference battle in the TD Garden in Boston. Both teams enter into this contest after winning their last games. Philly defeated the Magic, whereas the Celtics defeated the Raptors.

Philadelphia 76ers season so far

With the Ben Simmions saga unfolding, the Philadelphia 76ers started the season strong. Soon, injuries to stars like Joel Embid and Tobias Harris derailed the Philly express as they currently are tenth in the east.  But this adversity has allowed the other members of the 76ers’ roster to emerge as stars.

Tyrese Maxey has stats of 18.0 points per game and 5.0 assists per game, making him a key offensive option. Andre Drummond, with 10.8 rebounds, 6.7 points and 2.2 assists per game, became the best rebounder for Philadelphia. Seth Curry is reliable from deep and leads the 76ers with 2.3 made threes per game.

Boston Celtics season so far

The Boston Celtics have had a turbulent season so far. The team is currently 11th in the eastern conference. The Celtics have pulled off some big wins this season, but the team has struggled on the offensive end. Boston has an offensive rating of 107.3, which is ranked 20th in the league. Injuries have also held the Celtics back as All-Star two-way player Jaylen Brown is on a minutes restriction.

But the biggest star for Boston has been Jayson Tatum. He is the scoring and rebounding leader for the Celtics, as he accumulates 24.3 points and 8.5 rebounds per game. The Celtics also get the most three-point shooting production out of Tatum, who knocks down 2.7 threes per game.

Philadelphia 76ers vs Boston Celtics Match Prediction

For the 76ers, Joel Embiid has returned to the court after suffering from COVID. He scored 16 points and had 13 rebounds in 30 minutes against the Magic and also put up an insane 42-point game against the Timberwolves. The Embiid factor tips the odds towards Philadelphia, and hence the 76ers are the favourites to win against Boston. Historically, this fixture has been dominated by the Celtics, with 262 wins in comparison to Philly’s 193 wins.
