UFC Vegas 11 Randy Costa KO

UFC Vegas 11 kicked off with a TKO win with Tyson Nam picking up a stoppage victory over Jerome Rivera. Andre Ewell and Irwin Rivera also put up a three-round clinic, with Andre Ewell picking up a decision win. The third fight of the preliminary card, which also took place at the Bantamweight division, rising prospect Randy Costa slept Journey Newson under the first minute of the very first round to pick up his second straight victory inside the octagon.

With back to back first-round knockout wins, Costa will look to make a name for himself in the UFC Bantamweight division with an equally impressive performance in his next fight. However, he was seen as an underdog going into the fight. Be that as it may, Randy Costa was able to land a brutal leg kick, following it up with a barrage of punches, before the referee stopped the fight.

Randy Costa’s win was quite similar to Donald Cerrone as he timed his kick perfectly after throwing a straight right hand. Costa was able to time the kick brilliantly, as Newson moved to the right to dodge the punch. With this brutal finish, the Bantamweight division seems to have added another lethal striker.

Paul Felder was once again caught on the reaction camera, reacting to the devastating KO win. The loss marked Journey Newson’s first stoppage loss of his MMA career. In the seven times that Randy Costa has stepped inside the octagon, he has raked in six first-round stoppage victories, having lost only once against Brandon Davis back in April of 2019.

UFC Vegas 11 will see Colby Covington finally come face to face with Tyron Woodley in the main event.
